Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a fast-paced, high-volume Emergency Department requiring prior travel and triage experience.

Details

  • General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • 13-week assignment
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • Float within skillset required
  • Cerner EMR used

Requirements

  • Active RN license (MD or Compact) required
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience required
  • Must have worked within the past 8 months in an ED setting with at least 45,600 visits per year (125/day)
  • Triage experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and 100% on lethal rhythms
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and isolation precautions/PPE

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
  • Perform triage, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response duties
  • Manage and interpret dysrhythmias in an emergency setting
  • Flu vaccine required for all employees
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • First-time travelers are not eligible; prior travel assignment experience required
  • Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
  • Candidates with previous employment at this health system must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
