Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ED Observation/Telemetry position requiring WA or compact licensure and Med/Surg Telemetry experience.

Details

• Acute care ED Observation unit with 8-16 beds/bays for boarding patients awaiting inpatient rooms
• Patient ratio of 4:1 with Med/Surg Telemetry diagnoses
• RNs monitor their own telemetry, no dedicated monitor techs
• In-house security, transporters, charge nurse/house supervisor, and nursing aides available
• RT provides oxygen and SVN treatments
• Lab draws performed by phlebotomy
• Uses Epic EMR
• 12-hour day shifts, 0700-1930
• Every other weekend required
• Standby call requirement
• Primary assignment to one facility with potential to float to similar units within the regional hospital network, with a rate differential when floated
• First to float when floating is needed

Requirements

• Active WA state or compact RN license required, no pending licenses accepted
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

• Provide direct patient care to ED Observation patients awaiting inpatient placement
• Navy blue scrub color required
• One day of unit/department specific orientation provided
• No holiday coverage requirement
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year
• Candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
