Job Summary:
Performs ultrasound technical duties for imaging heart muscles and functions.
Creates images of the heart, cardiac chambers, valves, and vessels for assessing heart functions and diagnoses.
Collaborates closely with cardiologists, performing technical aspects of examinations.
Evaluates findings and reports them to cardiologists.
Essential Functions:
Sets up ultrasound equipment and attaches electrodes to the patient's chest.
Documents cardiac data and measurements.
Prepares patients by positioning them, spreading gels, and verifying wave signals.
Interviews patients and reviews medical records to adapt sonographic techniques.
Provides patient care, including preparing patients for imaging and providing instructions.
Performs echocardiography on treadmill patients to assess heart functions.
Maintains equipment and inventories, restocks supplies, and reviews patient schedules.
Enters patient information into appropriate systems.
Keeps job knowledge up to date through educational opportunities and professional publications.
Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
