Description

American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with acute care echo experience and pediatric scanning capability for a hospital cardiopulmonary unit.

Details

  • Work in the EKG/Cardio Pulmonary unit of a 272-bed hospital
  • Unit staffed by 4 cardiac sonographers
  • Day shift consists of 4x10-hour shifts, with rotating on-call for nights
  • 1:1 patient ratios
  • Equipment includes GE E95 (4 units) and Philips Epiq (1 unit)
  • EMR systems used are Meditech and CCW
  • On-call requirement of 2 nights per week including rotating weekends
  • Procedures include adult echocardiograms (portable inpatient and outpatient), transesophageal echocardiograms, bubble studies, and Definity contrast studies
  • Structured reporting required for all procedures performed

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months experience in an acute care setting as an Echo Tech
  • BLS and RCS certification required
  • License required if applicable
  • Pediatric experience required, including ability to complete a basic scan on infants
  • ARDMS certification preferred
  • Prior Meditech experience preferred
  • No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months
  • US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Perform a range of adult echocardiogram studies and specialized cardiac imaging procedures
  • Provide structured reporting for all completed procedures
  • Strong communication skills required for collaboration with staff and providers
  • Flexible, team-oriented, and patient-focused approach expected
  • Black or hospital-provided scrubs required
  • Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
