Description:
This position involves planning, evaluating, and implementing regular, special, and modified diets.
The goal is to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, treatment plans, and accreditation standards.
The dietitian will complete nutrition assessments of clients by reviewing medical charts and interviewing direct care staff and patients.
Maintaining dietary and nutrition records, reports, and progress notes is a key responsibility.
This includes patient charting, census sheets, and treatment plans.
The role also involves planning and conducting in-service training programs related to nutrition for clients and staff.
Attendance at various meetings is expected, such as treatment team and internal facility committee meetings.
Knowledge of dietetics and nutrition, as well as state and federal guidelines and accreditation standards, is essential.
Candidates should have strong interviewing and public relations skills.
The ability to interpret technical material in books, journals, and manuals is required.
Counseling clients regarding nutrition and gathering, collating, and classifying information is part of the job.
Candidates must be able to prepare meaningful, concise, and accurate reports.
