License: - Certifications: CPR card, six-hour x-ray training certification. Must-Have: Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or six months of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant. Description: We are looking for a Dental Assistant to assist our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment. This person will handle a variety of clinical duties for dental office operations that range in complexity and skill, with plenty of room to learn and grow. All aspects of the job require an exceptional level of customer service and communication skills. Responsibilities include ensuring a welcoming and well-prepared treatment room for patients by meticulously following prescribed procedures and protocols. Prepare patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping them. Serve as a key communicator within the practice, providing valuable information and support to both patients and colleagues through responsive interactions. Provide instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to the treatment area, positioning instruments for the dentist's access, suctioning, and passing instruments. Provide materials by selecting, mixing, and placing them on instruments and in the patient's mouth. Provide diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts. Maintain patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations and cleaning and polishing removable appliances. Help manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory. Educate patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions. Document dental care services by charting in patient records. Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential. Demonstrate dedication to upholding a safe and hygienic work environment by strictly adhering to established procedures, rules, and regulations. Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols. Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Other duties may be assigned.
