Job Title: Dental Assistant Profession: Dentistry Specialty: Dental Assistant Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Day 5x7.5-Hour Hours per Shift: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Experience: Minimum one year experience as a Chairside Dental Assistant License: New York license required Certifications: BLS RDA Must-Have: High School Diploma or GED Completion of a Certified Dental Assisting Program Description: Days are from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, including a 60-minute unpaid lunch break. This is a 12-week assignment. A High School Diploma or GED is required. Completion of a Certified Dental Assisting Program is preferred. Candidates must have a minimum of one year of experience as a Chairside Dental Assistant. Experience in 4-Handed Dentistry and Oral Surgery is required. Candidates should be skilled in taking Oral x-rays and Panoramic x-rays. Familiarity with EPIC EMR Documentation is also required. Skills needed include Alginate Impressions and Amalgam restoration. Knowledge of assistive devices such as walkers and wheelchairs is necessary. Candidates should be able to bag instruments and assist in Bridge and Crown Procedures. Understanding of curing time for materials is important. Experience in Endodontics and identification of restorative dental materials is preferred. Candidates must adhere to Infection Prevention and Isolation Precautions. Laser Safety knowledge is required. Maintaining sterile equipment is essential. Candidates should be able to obtain vital signs and order supplies. Experience in pediatric dentistry and periodontics is also required. Skills in pouring and trimming molds for study casts are needed. Candidates will prepare instruments for procedures and understand proper bite registration techniques. Experience with relining procedures and temporary restorations is important. Knowledge of topical agents for treatment of tooth sensitivity is required. Candidates must handle the use of special chemicals and set up X-tip for delivery. Experience with X-Rays and operating a Panorex unit is necessary. The role involves working with both adults and pediatric patients. Travelers must be away from previous employers for a minimum of one year to be considered. Education verification of the highest level completed is required.
