Description:
We are looking for a Dental Assistant to assist our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction.
This role operates in a team-based environment.
The Dental Assistant will handle a variety of clinical duties related to dental office operations.
There is plenty of room to learn and grow within this position.
All aspects of the job require an exceptional level of customer service and communication skills.
Responsibilities include:
Ensuring a welcoming and well-prepared treatment room by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
Preparing patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping them.
Serving as a key communicator within the practice by providing valuable information and support to both patients and colleagues.
Providing instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to the treatment area and positioning them for the dentist's access.
Suctioning and passing instruments as required.
Selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
Exposing and developing radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts for diagnostic information.
Maintaining patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations and cleaning removable appliances.
Helping manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and emergency supplies.
Educating patients on oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
Documenting dental care services by charting in patient records.
Maintaining patient confidentiality and protecting operations by keeping information confidential.
Upholding a safe and hygienic work environment by adhering to established procedures, rules, and regulations.
Protecting patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Using equipment and supplies efficiently to conserve dental resources.
Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
Participating in professional societies and establishing personal networks.
Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
