Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2+ years of CVICU/post-op heart experience and both RN and OR licensure.

Details

  • Work in the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) of a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and teaching hospital
  • Care for critically ill pediatric patients with congenital heart disease, post-cardiac surgery, and complex cardiovascular conditions
  • Perform bedside procedures including central line placement, arterial line placement, lumbar puncture, intubation/extubation, CRRT initiation/discontinuation, and ECMO cannulation/decannulation
  • Utilizes Hamilton G5 Ventilators, DirectLink ICP Monitors, Arctic Sun Targeted Temperature Management, and Baxter Prismaflex machines
  • Epic charting system used
  • 3x12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Weekend requirement
  • No on-call requirement
  • Floating required within the hospital to NICU and Pediatric Units

Requirements

  • Active RN license required
  • Active OR license required
  • BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of CVICU and post-op heart experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Skills required include ventilator management, CRRT, ICP monitoring, ECMO, hemodynamic monitoring, and management of dysrhythmias
  • COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted
  • Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required (charge RN references not accepted)

Additional Information

  • Provide advanced bedside critical care to pediatric patients from birth through young adulthood, including trauma, surgical, respiratory, cardiac, hematology/oncology, and neurologic cases
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including intensivists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and child life specialists
  • Must be available to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day)
  • Scrubs are provided for OR with no prints allowed
  • First-time travelers accepted if they have 3+ years of experience and PICU background
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
  • Returning staff must have a break of at least 6 months before returning as a traveler
  • Time off requests must be submitted upfront and limited to no more than 2 weeks
  • Candidates with pending licenses accepted if application has been submitted to and received by the licensing board
