Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2 years of CVPICU/PICU experience and an OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) at a pediatric hospital
• Day shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 13-week assignment length
• Floating required to NICU, PICU, ED, stepdown, and MS units as needed
• Must be willing to comply with facility float expectations and accept appropriate assignments in these areas

Requirements

• Active OH State or Compact RN license required, in hand at time of consideration
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of CVPICU or PICU experience required (hard stop requirement)
• 2 years of experience in a pediatric hospital required
• Skilled in respiratory care including ventilator management, ETT/NT suctioning, tracheostomy care, and interpretation of ABGs
• Skilled in cardiovascular care including hemodynamic monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and post cardiac surgery care
• Experience with congenital heart disease/repair, ECMO, post cardiac catheterization, and VAD (LVAD/RVAD) management preferred
• Experience with CRRT preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, and central/PICC line care
• Proficient in pediatric dosage calculations, continuous sedation, and IV vasopressor administration
• 2 supervisory references required at time of consideration, with at least one from a manager/supervisor-titled reference (charge references not accepted)

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive critical care to pediatric cardiovascular patients including those with congenital heart disease and post-cardiac surgery needs
• Manage ventilated patients and assist with airway management, intubation, and BiPAP/CPAP as needed
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring and manage dysrhythmias in critically ill pediatric patients
• Candidates must not have worked in a permanent role at the facility within the last 2 years
• Local candidates are not accepted; a 60-mile radius rule applies
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
