Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring at least 1 year of experience and PALS certification.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• Every other weekend work required
• Floating required
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Bi-weekly orientation schedule

Requirements

• Active RN license, NC or Compact, must be in hand
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• One supervisory reference from within the last year required
• Full SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients
• Experience with congenital heart disease/repair, ECMO, and post cardiac surgery care preferred
• Hemodynamic monitoring and dysrhythmia management experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients with cardiovascular conditions including congenital heart disease and post cardiac surgery recovery
• Utilize skills in respiratory care, hemodynamic monitoring, and management of complex cardiovascular equipment
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced rate
• Candidates with prior permanent employment at this health system must not have been employed there within the past 6 months and must disclose prior employment history
• RTO must be limited to 5-7 days maximum at time of consideration
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 31-March 31) with no exemptions
• Up to three absences permitted per 13-week contract, with attendance monitored
