Job Description
The Surgical Technologist performs a variety of tasks in the operating room to assist the surgical team. Responsibilities include arranging sterile setups for surgical procedures, passing instruments and supplies, preparing patients for surgery, and ensuring a clean and safe operating environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile solutions.
- Assist in patient preparation including washing, shaving, and ensuring aseptic incision sites.
- Transport and position patients on the operating table.
- Efficiently pass instruments and sterile supplies to the surgical team during operations.
- Assist in the care, preparation, and disposal of specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Clean and restock the operating room after surgery.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- 2 years of experience required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TSC) certification.
