Travel Registered Nurse - CVOR
Position Overview
The Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - CVOR will provide specialized nursing care in the operating room setting. This role involves working with patients undergoing thoracic and vascular surgeries, including heart and valve replacements.
Location
North Charleston, SC
Schedule
Candidates will be scheduled in accordance with facility policy, including working every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees. Shifts available are from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, along with additional on-call requirements.
Unit Information
- Unit Size: 17 beds
- Patient Ratios: 1:1
- Staffing: 1 RN and 1 CST per room, turnover staff, 1 charge RN, and 4:1 anesthesia coverage.
- Equipment: XI Robot, advanced spine technology, Mako joint robot.
- Documentation: Meditech
Responsibilities
The Travel RN is responsible for a variety of surgical procedures across multiple specialties, including but not limited to:
- Thoracic and vascular surgeries
- Cardiac procedures (CV/PV)
- Coronary artery bypass grafting
- AAA repairs
- Mitral or aortic valve replacements
- Other surgical areas such as general, trauma, orthopedic, urology, GYN, plastics, and neurosurgery.
Qualifications
- Required: RN License and BLS Certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in thoracic and vascular surgery.
- Strong skills in general circulating knowledge, including positioning, prepping, and facilitating surgical cases.
