Key Responsibilities:

As a CVOR Registered Nurse, you will play an essential role in supporting cardiovascular surgical procedures and ensuring safe, high-quality patient care throughout the perioperative journey.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgical procedures.
• Assess patients' health conditions and evaluate their clinical needs before, during, and after surgical interventions.
• Collaborate with cardiovascular surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other members of the surgical team.
• Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized perioperative nursing care.
• Maintain a safe, sterile, and organized operating room environment.
• Monitor patient conditions and responses to treatments throughout the surgical process.
• Administer medications and perform delegated medical functions within the scope of nursing practice.
• Ensure proper documentation of patient care, procedures, and clinical interventions.
• Provide patient and family education regarding surgical procedures, treatment plans, and recovery.
• Monitor ongoing treatment plans and coordinate additional evaluations or referrals when necessary.
• Follow established infection prevention, patient safety, and operating room protocols.
• Participate in scheduled on-call responsibilities as required.
• Float to other departments when necessary, within your clinical competencies and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of professional nursing experience.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited nursing program.
• Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Strong clinical assessment and patient-care skills.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity surgical environment.
• Willingness to participate in required on-call coverage.
