• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,700 - $2,840
• On-Call: Required, including weekday nights and rotating weekends
• Charting System: Cerner
• Orientation: 8 hours
• Setting: Acute care hospital with a busy cardiac surgery service

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Illinois, or currently in the licensing process
• BLS required
• ACLS preferred
• 3 years of CVOR, trauma, or main operating room experience preferred
• Strong candidates with less experience may be considered if they have a solid surgical background
• Teaching hospital experience and Level II trauma experience required
• Experience with Cerner preferred
• Ability to support on-call coverage and remain flexible with scheduling needs
• Comfort working with adult and geriatric patient populations

Responsibilities

• Provide circulating and scrub support for cardiovascular surgical procedures
• Assist with complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery cases
• Support procedures such as CABG, valve repairs and replacements, ECMO, LVAD, TAVR, aneurysm repair, and other advanced surgeries
• Perform sterile technique, specimen handling, labeling, and universal protocol compliance
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative team members to ensure excellent patient care
• Adapt to a dynamic operating room environment with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and teamwork
• Maintain readiness for on-call needs and support the surgical schedule as assigned
• Contribute to a high-performing healthcare team that values precision, professionalism, and patient-centered care
