This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Registered Nurse who is comfortable working in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) while remaining flexible to support the General OR when needed.

Your Role

As a CVOR RN, you will provide comprehensive nursing care throughout the surgical process while supporting safe, high-quality cardiovascular and operating room procedures.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform independent nursing functions in accordance with state Board of Nursing standards and accepted clinical practice.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate patients' health status.
  • Provide nursing interventions, therapy, and treatments that support patient health and recovery.
  • Support surgical procedures while maintaining appropriate cardiac, sterile, and nursing care practices.
  • Work with surgical instrumentation and maintain a safe, sterile environment.
  • Provide patient and family health teaching and counseling as appropriate.
  • Monitor treatment and therapy plans and communicate changes in patient condition.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary surgical team.
  • Refer patients for additional evaluation or treatment when needed.
  • Accurately document care in accordance with hospital and regulatory requirements.
  • May float to other departments within the nurse's scope of practice, competency, and qualifications.
  • May be required to take call during regularly scheduled shifts based on operational needs.


✅ Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of Registered Nurse experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • ASN/Associate Degree in Nursing required.
  • Current RN license – Single State or Compact RN License.
  • BLS – AHA required.
  • ACLS – AHA required.
  • Experience with:
    • CVOR/cardiac surgical services
    • Surgical instrumentation
    • Sterility and sterile technique
    • Comprehensive nursing care


⭐ Preferred

  • BSN preferred.
  • Previous Registered Nurse experience in a surgical/operating room environment.
