Registered Nurse (RN) - CVOR

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with expertise in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience circulating in CVOR along with a strong background in Endovascular and Cardiac open-heart procedures.

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care in the CVOR setting.
Collaborate effectively with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Monitor and assess patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Adhere to safety and infection control protocols.
Participate in patient education and advocacy efforts.

Schedule Details

The position requires a commitment of 10 hours per day, with shifts scheduled from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Weekend and holiday requirements will be determined as needed.

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of RN experience specifically in CVOR, with additional years in core CVOR as a Staff Nurse.
Endovascular and Cardiac open-heart experience is preferred.
Ability to float to the Main OR and scrub in CVOR cases is a plus.

Qualifications

Active RN license in Illinois is required.
Current CPR certification is mandatory, with ACLS certification not required.
New graduates will not be considered for this role.

Additional Requirements

Candidates should be prepared to provide on-call coverage, with expectations of 3-4 shifts per month. The on-call policy requires staff to be available for callbacks within 30 minutes. Please note that travel time is assessed differently in the Chicago area.
