CVOR Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

The CVOR Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing exceptional care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room. This role requires expertise in managing complex surgical procedures and collaborating effectively within a critical care team.

Job Details

• Unit Type: Cardio OR (Cardiovascular Operating Room)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Average Number of Cases per Day: 30 (including 1-2 open heart procedures)

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with open heart and/or endovascular cases
• Ability to scrub and assist with surgeries

Unit Information

• Number of OR Suites: 16, with 3 dedicated to CVOR
• Common Procedures: Open heart surgeries, TAVR, open/endovascular, thoracic procedures
• EMR System: Epic

Shifts and Scheduling

• Standard Shift Hours: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM (negotiable)
• Weeknight Call Requirements: One weekday per week
• Weekend Call Requirements: One weekend per month (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, in rotation with staff)
• Floating Requirements: May require floating to General OR if no CVOR cases are available; potential to float within Zone 1 as needed

Orientation and Training

New hires will undergo a comprehensive one-week orientation program. Clinicians are required to be on-site for the entire duration of orientation, even if initial training modules are conducted remotely.

Dress Code

Hospital-provided scrubs (light blue) must be worn.
