Registered Nurse (RN) - CVOR Surgery

Position Overview

This contract position is for a Registered Nurse with experience in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) surgery. The role encompasses providing high-quality patient care in a surgical environment during both scheduled hours and on-call shifts.

Unit Information

• Location: Surgery, Live Oak, TX
• Unit Configuration: 5 operating rooms
• Current Staffing:
  • 5 Full-Time RNs including Manager and Boardrunner
  • 2 Part-Time RNs (1 on FMLA)
  • 3 PRN RNs (4 Open Reqs for Full-Time nurses)
  • 12 Surgical Technicians
• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Type of Equipment: Basic OR equipment including cautery, video monitors, arthroscopy equipment, and positioning equipment
• Electronic Medical Records: Meditech

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Required Skills:
  • OR circulator experience
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Ability to fulfill rotating call requirements (minimum one night a week and one weekend every five weeks)
• Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in orthopedics, general surgery, gynecology, robotics, urology, vascular, cardiovascular, neuro, and thoracic procedures
• Best Personality Fit: Flexible, caring, compassionate, and a willingness to adapt to various situations

Work Schedule

This position requires the ability to rotate weeknight and weekend call shifts as needed. Flexibility in scheduling is essential.

Scrub attire will be provided at the facility.
