**Exciting Opportunity for Travel RN in Cardiovascular Progressive Care!** **Job Description:** - **Unit Information:** - **Unit:** Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC) - **Location:** Asheville, NC - **Floor:** E4 - CVPC - **Building:** E Heart Tower - **Patient Population:** - Primary focus on CV and vascular surgery including: - Open heart surgeries (CABG, AVR, MVR, Bentall, TAVR) - Thoracic lung surgeries (lobectomy, thoracotomy) - Esophagogastrectomy, AAA (open and endovascular) - Fem-pop bypass, carotid endarterectomies - Also cares for overflow medical cardiology patients: - Diagnoses include heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, heart block - **Unit Details:** - **Number of Beds:** 40 cardiac surgery stepdown beds - **Staff Count:** Approximately 100 total - **Patient Ratios:** - 1:5 patients per RN - 1:13 for Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) - **Equipment:** Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, various lifts - **EMR:** Cerner - **Desired Skills and Experience:** - **Must-Have:** - Stepdown experience - Telemetry experience - **Preferred:** - CV surgery and vascular surgery experience (within the last year) - CVICU experience - **Procedures Familiarity:** - Epidural and chest tube management - Tube feedings - IV gluccomander and cardiac gtt management (e.g., phenylephrine, dobutamine, insulin) - **Best Personality Fit:** - Team player with a passion for caregiving - Enjoys a fast-paced environment - Flexible and adaptable - **Required Certifications:** - ACLS and BLS - **Floating Areas:** - Any stepdown or medical-surgical unit - Inpatient holding area - **Dress Code:** - Scrub color: All navy, white tops/navy bottoms, or all white - **Weekend and On-Call Requirements:** - No on-call duties - Minimum of 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) per 6-week schedule period - Flexibility to work holidays is appreciated **Why Catalytic Solutions (CatSol):** At CatSol, we connect dedicated therapists with rewarding assignments across the country.
