Job Summary
Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) Location: Oak Lawn, Illinois. This role involves providing surgical support within a high-volume, Level I Trauma Center specializing in cardiovascular and vascular procedures. The position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Position Description: Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in operating room and open heart procedures, supporting adult cardiac surgeries including TAVR, AAA, endarterectomies, and other vascular and thoracic cases.
- Required Qualifications: OR/CVOR RN certification, BLS certification required, 2-3 years of acute care experience (unless IR Hybrid Tech, then 3 years of hybrid experience), valid license, EPIC electronic medical record experience, current drivers license and insurance.
- Schedule: 10-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM, 4 days per week with a rotation schedule. Weekend rotation is every 4th weekend (Saturday-Sunday).
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with adult or pediatric open-heart cases, critical care experience, Level I trauma experience, EPIC proficiency.
- Additional Information: The position involves orienting on first days, unit-specific training, supporting a 24/7 operating environment, and rotating shifts including day, evening, and night hours. On-call responsibilities with a 30-minute response time and holiday coverage are required.
- Submission Requirements: Candidates must be able to scrub and circulate, with demonstrated experience performing these duties in high-acuity cardiac and vascular cases.
