Job Summary:
The Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) profession is currently seeking qualified healthcare professionals for a night shift opportunity at a short-term acute care facility. This position involves scrubbing and circulating in a fast-paced, high-level cardiovascular surgical environment, primarily performing cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases, including transplant and complex procedures. The assignment offers a rotating schedule with on-call shifts as determined by the unit needs.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 10 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Two years of clinical experience in operating room open heart procedures, with scrub and circulating skills. Valid certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience in cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery, preferably with Level 1 trauma experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with heart and lung transplant surgeries, and familiarity with electronic charting systems.
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS are required. Night shift experience in CVOR is essential.
- Additional Information: The role involves working in a high-acuity cardiac and thoracic surgery department with emergent case responsibilities. The facility has a total staffing of 1266 beds, and provides state-of-the-art care with interdisciplinary support. Candidates must have sufficient Level 1 trauma experience with complex cardiac procedures. The assignment begins on 10/26/2026 and ends on 01/25/2027.
- License Requirements: Valid license in the appropriate state prior to start. No local candidates within 75 miles are accepted.
- Travel and Scheduling Notes: No remote or local candidates accepted; 18 months of tenure with a 3-month break in service is required for previous staff. Floating within scope is required. No additional RTO post submission.
- On-Call and Shifts: No call responsibility during night shifts; up to 3-4 weekday night call shifts per 6-week schedule depending on unit needs.
