Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Operating Room Open Heart Belleville. The position supports open-heart surgery, cardiac procedures, and related operating room services in a day-shift setting. The registered nurse will function in both scrub and circulator roles, with required call coverage and potential rotation within the service line.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; operating room open-heart experience; ability to independently first scrub cardiac and open-heart procedures; competency in the scrub role; ability to function as a circulator; experience with charting in EPIC.
- Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; general operating room or hybrid operating room experience; experience with endovascular, neuro-spine, ear, nose, and throat, orthopedic, or robotic specialties.
- Schedule: Day shift, 10-hour shifts from 6:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: Call coverage is required, including weeknight call from the end of the shift until 6:30 a.m. and weekend call from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. Shift times may adjust to accommodate the open-heart operating room schedule. When no open-heart cases are scheduled, the registered nurse may support other operating room assignments within scope. The primary assignment is open-heart surgery, with potential assignments in urology, gynecology, dental, robotic, plastics, ear, nose, and throat, general, vascular, thoracic, pulmonary, orthopedic, pain, or podiatry procedures. Adult patient care is provided.
