Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Operating Room Open Heart. This position supports a cardiovascular surgery program and requires circulating experience in a cardiovascular operating room environment. The role includes weekday coverage and scheduled call responsibilities, with opportunities to contribute to program development and establish clinical workflows.
Job Details
- Schedule: MondayFriday day shifts, 8 hours per shift, 40 hours per week. Call coverage includes every other weekend from Friday at 3:00 p.m. through Monday at 6:30 a.m., along with 23 weekday call shifts from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
- Required Qualifications:
- California Registered Nurse license
- At least 3 years of relevant operating room experience; 5 years requested
- Travel nursing experience
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications
- Circulating experience
- Level II trauma experience
- Epic electronic health record experience
- Ability to care for adult and geriatric patients
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Level I trauma experience
- Experience with cardiovascular surgical procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting, mitral valve replacement, surgical aortic valve replacement, aortic aneurysm repair, endovascular aneurysm repair, thoracotomy, and video-assisted thoracic surgery
- Additional Information:
- Cardiovascular operating room experience includes circulating and scrubbing responsibilities.
- The position supports the development of a new cardiovascular surgery program.
- Responsibilities may include helping establish clinical workflows and supporting service-line growth.
- After-hours case volume is expected to be relatively low during the initial program development phase.
- Call coverage is required, with the anticipated call burden expected to increase as the program develops.
