Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Operating Room Open Heart, Greenville, NC. The position provides circulating nursing care for cardiac, vascular, thoracic, and foregut surgical procedures in a cardiovascular operating room setting. The role supports safe, coordinated patient care across a variety of complex surgical procedures.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse license with compact licenses accepted; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); minimum two years of experience; ability to circulate in cardiac, vascular, thoracic, and foregut surgery.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience scrubbing in the operating room, including familiarity with EPIC.
- Schedule: Day shifts consisting of 10-hour shifts, with a minimum of 40 hours per week; call coverage may be required for nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Additional Information: Patient populations include cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical cases. Responsibilities include managing overall nursing care in the operating room, maintaining a safe and comfortable environment, preparing and managing surgical equipment and supplies, maintaining the sterile field, managing specimens, and completing sponge and supply counts. Cardiac procedures may include coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve repair and replacement, minimally invasive and robotic valve procedures, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), and left ventricular assist device (LVAD) placement. Vascular procedures may include open and endovascular abdominal aneurysm repair, peripheral vascular procedures, carotid stenting, angioplasty, and amputations. Thoracic procedures may include open thoracotomy, video-assisted thoracoscopy (VATS), esophageal and hernia repairs, bronchoscopy, esophagoscopy, and robotic procedures.
