Job Summary
Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) Nurse position located in a short-term acute care facility. This role involves providing specialized cardiac and thoracic surgical care, with a focus on open heart procedures, vascular, transplant, and other complex cases. The position requires experience in cardiovascular surgery and flexibility to work rotating night shifts, with a schedule that includes weekday and call shifts as needed.
Job Details
- Shift Schedule: 12-hour nights, with start times rotating as needed. Minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: 2 years of experience in operating room cardiovascular (CVOR) nursing, with at least 1 year in a Level 1 trauma facility. Certifications required include Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Candidate must have scrub and circulate experience, with specific expertise in cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries including transplant procedures.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with heart and lung transplant procedures. Knowledge of Epic charting system preferred.
- Additional Information:
- Must have sufficient level 1 trauma experience.
- Will float within the service line to meet facility needs.
- No more than 7 days of planned time off (RTO).
- License in hand at the time of submittal for applicable states.
- No local candidates within 75 miles accepted; must be from more distant locations.
- Parking passes available for orientation and work shifts, with details provided prior to start.
- Specialty requires scrubbing on cardiothoracic and vascular procedures, including transplant cases.
- Candidates must meet all compliance and certification deadlines prior to start date.
