Job Summary
Registered Nurse Operating Room Open Heart. The position provides individualized, evidence-based nursing care through patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsibilities include coordinating care, administering medications, documenting electronically, educating patients and families, and supporting safe transitions across the continuum of care.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); New Jersey professional Registered Nurse license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); six or more months of relevant nursing experience or active participation in the organizations Nurse Residency Program.
- Schedule: Day shift, 7:00 AM7:30 PM, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week; every other weekend and holidays as needed; on-call requirement after 90 days.
- Responsibilities: Perform comprehensive, age-specific, and disease-specific patient assessments; recognize changes in clinical and diagnostic status; implement and coordinate individualized plans of care; provide patient and family education; administer medications using bar-scanning and electronic documentation technologies; communicate with the healthcare team; evaluate patient outcomes; initiate interventions for changes in condition; and support multidisciplinary discharge planning.
- Additional Information: Required skills include care coordination, patient assessment, disease-specific assessment, clinical documentation, patient education, evidence-based nursing practice, multidisciplinary discharge planning, medication administration, and point-of-care electronic documentation. Scrubs will be provided.
