Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring 2+ years of critical care experience and current ACLS/BLS certification.

Details

  • Blended cardiovascular unit with 18 CVICU beds and 12 CVIMCU beds caring for patients 16 years and older
  • Cares for patients with heart failure, post-cardiac arrest, CT surgery (CABG, valve repair/replacement, VATS/thoracotomy), IABP therapy, Impella insertion, post-PCI, pacemaker insertion, ablation, arrhythmia, STEMI/NSTEMI, and EKOS
  • 13-week assignment on night shift (4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
  • Floating required within the facility and to nearby affiliated West Valley Hospital, approximately 15 minutes away
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active RN license required; Oregon CNA license must be active and in hand (pending not accepted)
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; CCRN preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience required
  • Telemetry experience required
  • Strong cardiovascular experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central/PICC line care, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips
  • Experience with CVP monitoring, CABG, Impella, IABP, post cardiac surgery, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, and VAD preferred
  • Experience with CRRT/CVVHD, IV insulin protocols, hypothermia protocol, and management of dysrhythmias preferred

  • Provide specialized nursing care within a cardiovascular intensive/intermediate care unit recognized as a Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospital and AACN Silver Beacon award recipient
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to cardiac, thoracic, and vascular patient care
  • Robust training program available covering beginner to advanced cardiovascular intensive care, including IABP, CRRT, targeted temperature management, and VAD training
  • Former employees of the health system are not eligible for travel assignments until six months after their termination date
  • Refusal to float may result in contract cancellation
  • Block scheduling is not accommodated
  • Up to 8 hours of non-billable training modules may be required prior to start and annually thereafter
