Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a CVICU position at an academic Level I Trauma Center requiring 2 years of recent CVICU experience and NJ or Compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit within an academic Level I Trauma Center
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:30
  • Every other weekend required
  • 1:1:2+ patient ratios that vary based on census, acuity, and staffing
  • Floating required within skillset to all ICUs, PACU ICU holds, ED ICU holds, and Cardiac IMC units
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

  • Active NJ or Compact RN license required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience required; SICU experience may be considered if initial CVICU training was completed
  • Experience with fresh post-op cardiac cases including CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR required
  • Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT using PrisMax required
  • Proficiency in A-lines, central/PICC lines, blood product administration, and IV therapy required
  • Experience managing continuous IV paralytics, sedation, and titrating cardiac/vasoactive drips required
  • Respiratory care skills required including vented patient care, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABGs, and suctioning
  • Cardiovascular skills required including temporary pacers, FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and 12-lead EKG
  • Renal and neurological care experience required including CVVHD/CRRT, CVA/acute stroke, hypothermia protocol, and lumbar drains
  • EPIC charting experience required

Additional Information

  • Provide advanced ICU-level care to patients undergoing cardiac surgery, heart transplantation, ventricular assist device placement, TAVR, and ECMO
  • Manage multisystem organ dysfunction and complex post-surgical recovery in a high-acuity environment
  • Facility is a 628-bed academic Level I Trauma Center affiliated with Rutgers University with Comprehensive Cardiac Center accreditation
  • Must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit needs
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply

  • Former employees of the health system must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
