Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Pediatric ICU night shift position requiring 2+ years of cardiac critical care experience and a CO or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a 10-bed Pediatric Cardiac ICU within a larger 10-bed PICU offering additional support resources
• 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio for critical care, estimated but not guaranteed
• Staffing includes a Charge RN with RNs staffed to patient volume on both day and night shifts
• Uses Phillips monitors, Medfusion and Baxter pumps, along with specialized equipment such as Centrimag, Prismax, and Arctic Sun
• Documents in Meditech EMR
• Night shift schedule, 7P-7A
• Weekend requirement of 4 shifts within a 4-week schedule

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• NIH Stroke certification required for CVICU placement
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac critical care experience required
• Peritoneal dialysis, CRRT, and ECMO bedside experience preferred
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for FL and MO candidates)
• No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing support to congenital cardiac and cardiac surgical patients, including post-sternotomy and open chest care
• Manage inotropic and vasopressor continuous infusions, IVF, and chest tube care
• Administer moderate sedation as part of patient care
• Work alongside a highly experienced nursing team averaging 10 years of nursing experience
• Collaborate with a physician team of board-certified pediatric and congenital heart intensivists
• Unit is recognized as the ECMO Center for the hospital, serving both neonatal and cardiac patient populations
• Strong culture of safety and evidence-based practice with high staff engagement
• Ideal candidates are flexible, organized, strong communicators, and enjoy teaching and resourcing others
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; no local candidates accepted
