HonorVet Technologies is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a travel nursing job in Baltimore, Maryland.

Registered Nurse – CVICU

Facility: University of Maryland Medical Center – Downtown
Location: Baltimore, MD
Start Date: 09/28/2026
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
Schedule: 3x12-hour nights; every other weekend required; holidays as scheduled
Patient Ratio: 1:1, up to 1:3 with stable/lower-acuity patients
Charting System: Epic – Required
Float Required: Yes; occasionally to ICU, Cardiac PCU, and lower-acuity units as needed
Call Requirement: May be required; final requirements to be confirmed
Note: 2 years of CVICU experience required. First-time travelers accepted with strong CVICU skills. High-acuity cardiac ICU caring for patients requiring advanced mechanical support. Responds to STEMI team calls and may float to the STEMI Cath Lab. Navy blue scrubs. 

Position Overview:
Provide critical care nursing to adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiovascular and multisystem conditions in a high-acuity CVICU. The RN will manage mechanical circulatory support, cardiac and vasoactive infusions, ventilated patients, invasive monitoring, and post-cardiac surgical patients.

Job duties:

  • Manage critically ill cardiovascular patients requiring IABP, Impella, VAD, CRRT, ventilator support, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips while continuously monitoring dysrhythmias, arterial pressures, CVP, and other critical parameters.
  • Provide post-cardiac surgery and cardiac catheterization care, including management of Swan-Ganz/PA catheters and epicardial pacing wires.
  • Manage respiratory failure using mechanical ventilation, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, suctioning, and arterial blood gas interpretation.
  • Perform critical care interventions including central/arterial line management, chest tube care, targeted temperature management, CRRT, and emergency response.

Requirements:
License: Active MD or Compact RN license at time of submission
Experience: 2 years of CVICU experience; strong CVICU experience required for first-time travelers
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS/NIH; CCRN preferred
Other requirement: Epic experience required; must be comfortable with high-acuity cardiovascular patients, advanced mechanical support, floating within specialty, and every-other-weekend coverage.
