Job Requirements

  • Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license at time of submission
  • Minimum of 2 years of CVICU nursing experience required
  • Strong Cardiovascular ICU experience may be considered for first-time travel nurses
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • CPI and NIHSS required
  • CCRN preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Ability to work rotating day and night shifts with a flexible schedule
  • Comfortable floating within scope and providing care for lower-acuity ICU patients

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled, compassionate care to critically ill cardiac and cardiovascular patients in the CVICU
  • Monitor and manage patients with cardiogenic shock, MI, heart failure, arrhythmias, and cardiac arrest
  • Support advanced therapies including LVAD, Impella, IABP, and CRRT
  • Care for ventilated patients and assist with hemodynamic monitoring
  • Perform and assist with bedside procedures such as central line insertion, arterial line management, chest tube insertion, bronchoscopy, and Swan/PA cath insertion
  • Titrate vasoactive, cardiac, sedation, and anticoagulation therapies per unit protocols
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to deliver safe, evidence-based critical care
  • Document thoroughly in Epic and maintain a high standard of accuracy and timeliness
  • Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and quality outcomes in a high-acuity hospital setting
