  • Schedule Notes: Every other weekend required; holidays required as scheduled; floating within scope may be required

Job Requirements

  • Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license at time of submission
  • Minimum 2 years of CVICU, cardiac ICU, or comparable critical care experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • CPI required
  • NIHSS required
  • CCRN preferred
  • Strong experience caring for high-acuity cardiac patients and managing complex ICU therapies
  • Comfort working with patients requiring cardiac support devices, advanced monitoring, and invasive lines
  • First-time travelers with strong CVICU experience may be considered

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a busy cardiovascular ICU
  • Monitor and manage patients with cardiogenic shock, heart failure, MI, arrhythmias, and post-cardiac surgery needs
  • Care for patients requiring mechanical circulatory support, including Impella, VAD, and IABP
  • Support ventilated patients, CRRT therapy, targeted temperature management, and invasive hemodynamic monitoring
  • Assist with bedside procedures such as central line placement, arterial line management, bronchoscopy, and chest tube insertion
  • Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips according to patient condition and unit protocols
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and other support services to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
  • Float within the specialty and to lower-acuity areas as needed while maintaining excellent patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and respond quickly to changes in patient status
