CVICU RN – TICU
 

Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) RN
Unit: Trauma ICU (TICU)
Shift: 3×12-hour Night Shifts
Call: No Call
Weekends: Required
Holiday: Only 1 major holiday off per contract
 

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced CVICU RN Traveler to work in the TICU, which currently serves as an overflow unit for CVICU patients.

Travelers must be experienced and trained to care for critically ill cardiovascular patients, including those requiring advanced cardiac support devices.

Required Experience

• CVICU experience required
• Balloon Pump (IABP) experience required
• Impella experience required
• Critical care experience with complex cardiac patients
• Strong cardiac monitoring and critical-care skills

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to critically ill adult cardiac patients
• Perform continuous hemodynamic and cardiac monitoring
• Care for patients requiring Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP)
• Care for patients requiring Impella devices
• Manage patients with external temporary pacemakers
• Provide care involving CRRT
• Collaborate with Cardiac Cath Lab teams for patients requiring PCI
• Respond to cardiac and respiratory emergencies as needed
• Provide patient and family education and support

Required Certifications & Licensure

• BLS
• Active RN State License
• CVICU Skills Checklist
• Cardiovascular ICU competency assessment
• RN Pharmacology assessment
• Required Core Mandatory Nursing assessments
• Ishihara Compliant Color Vision Exam (17 Plates)

Schedule

• 3×12-hour night shifts
• No call
• Weekends required
• Only 1 major holiday off per contract

Important: This position is specifically seeking CVICU RN travelers who are trained and experienced with Balloon Pump (IABP) and Impella devices to support the TICU while additional TICU staff are being trained.
