Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2+ years of CVICU experience and prior travel assignment history.
Details
- Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- 1:1 patient ratios
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30
- Weekend shifts required unless otherwise noted on the posted schedule
- Floating required to other ICU units within the hospital, but not to sister hospitals
- Uses EPIC charting system
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or compact license, or proof of pending license, required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, preferably in CVICU including open heart cases
- Prior travel nursing experience required, ideally with 2+ travel assignments beyond initial hospital
- Experience with vents, IV starts, PA lines, Impella, IABP, and VAD (LVAD/RVAD) required
- Proficiency with pacers, Swan-Ganz catheters, and post-op cardiac care required
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response
- Lung and heart transplant experience preferred
- Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred
- EPIC charting experience preferred but not required
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgical patients
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
- RTO limited to 7 days in November/December, may span one holiday, and must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- RTO cannot be requested during orientation week and should be kept to a minimum
- Former UW Medical Center staff must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a travel RN
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
