Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a CVICU night shift position requiring an active OR RN license and at least one year of recent ICU experience.

Details

  • Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:00), 13-week assignment
  • CVICU unit with 1:2 patient ratios
  • Must be open to working any and all days, including weekends
  • Required to float between CVICU and NTICU, as well as Telemetry, Acute Care (neurology, surgical, ortho/med), Observation, and ED boarding units
  • Occasional floating to University District facility possible
  • No on-call requirements
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Level II Trauma Center, nonprofit short-term acute care facility with 385 staffed beds
  • Free parking available
  • Scrubs of any color accepted

Requirements

  • Active OR RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years RN experience with at least 1 year recent ICU experience (CCU, CICU, or CVICU)
  • CVICU experience required in work history
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, CSU-ALS
  • Preferred certifications: NIHSS, TNCC, TCAR or TNCC required after 1-year mark of assignment
  • 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
  • 2-3 prior completed travel assignments preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to patients with conditions including open heart surgery, MI, post cardiac arrest, post-surgical care (Whipple, liver resection, amputations, cardiac surgery), respiratory distress, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, overdose, and trauma
  • Assist with specialized procedures including chest tube insertion, central line and PICC placement, bedside tracheostomy, IO insertion, cardiac cooling catheter and pad management, and femoral catheter removal
  • Serve as backup for Hospital Cardiac Arrest Team, Rapid Response Team, and Massive Transfusion Team
  • Orientation includes a 4-hour float orientation
  • Local candidates are not accepted; must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility
  • Previous PeaceHealth employees must have separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Limited RTO approved; no more than 1 guaranteed work week of PTO, with manager requiring 13 working weeks and allowing RTO for one holiday
  • Pending license candidates accepted, though start date may be delayed up to 8 weeks while licensure is processed
