Job Requirements

• Active Virginia RN license or compact license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required; 3 years of CVICU/CSICU experience strongly preferred
• Level I facility experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Strong experience with CRRT, IABP, ECMO, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, telemetry, ventilators, and conscious sedation
• Experience recovering post-operative cardiothoracic surgery patients preferred
• BSN preferred
• Ability to work nights and every other weekend
• 2 professional references required

Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care nursing for adults and geriatrics in a 14-bed cardiac surgery ICU
• Monitor and manage patients recovering from CABG, valve repair/replacement, aortic surgery, VAD procedures, thoracic surgery, and transplant cases
• Support patients requiring advanced cardiac support therapies such as ECMO, CRRT, IABP, and LVAD/RVAD devices
• Perform invasive hemodynamic monitoring and assist with vasoactive medication titration
• Deliver close post-operative recovery care for complex cardiothoracic and vascular patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams to promote safe, coordinated patient care
• Float within scope as needed and adapt to a dynamic critical care environment
