Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a night shift CVICU position requiring CVICU/CSICU experience at a Level I facility and an active VA or compact RN license.

Details

  • Cardiac surgery intensive care unit (CVICU) setting at a Level I trauma facility
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Floating within scope required if needed

Requirements

  • Active RN license (VA or compact) required in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum 1 year of CVICU/CSICU experience at a Level I facility required
  • 3+ years of experience preferred, with 5-6 years of CVICU experience preferred
  • BSN preferred; diploma, ASN, or BSN from an accredited (ACEN or CCNE) program accepted
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Skilled in managing pulmonary artery lines, telemetry, and ventilators
  • Experience with conscious sedation preferred
  • Two professional references (supervisor level or above) required
  • Background check required

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to cardiac surgery patients in the CVICU
  • Complete orientation modules assigned through the facility's Learning Exchange, to be finished by the end of orientation week
  • Facility maintains a natural nail policy
  • Drug and tobacco-free workplace, including no smoking on campus
  • Local candidates accepted at the same base rate with no radius restrictions
  • Time-off requests must be submitted in advance and are approved by the unit manager; no time off granted during the first week of assignment
  • Travelers and former employees must have been separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
