Travel Nurse Job Details

CVICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent permanent experience in a CVICU or the specialty for which you are applying
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or an active compact-state license in hand at the time of submission
- Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- One professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director within the specialty, completed within the past 12 months
- Successful completion of required background, compliance, and clinical screening processes
- Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments during orientation; up to two attempts are permitted for each assessment
- Ability to meet travel nursing assignment requirements, including holiday rotation and required orientation activities
CVICU Travel Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgery patients
- Continuously assess patient status, recognize changes in condition, and initiate timely interventions
- Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring for therapeutic response and adverse effects
- Interpret ECG rhythms and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support evidence-based care plans
- Manage complex equipment, monitoring systems, and critical care therapies within the scope of practice
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and care team members
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
- Participate in orientation, competency validation, annual education, and unit-based quality initiatives
