Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2 years of CVICU experience and GA or Compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in a 10-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) caring for adult to geriatric patients
• Manage complex cardiac patients including those with LVADs, balloon pumps, Swan catheters, temporary pacemakers, femoral and venous sheaths, arterial lines, TR bands, and CRRT
• Nurses typically carry a 1:2 patient ratio with average daily census of 7
• Unit has an intensivist present Monday-Friday with daily multidisciplinary rounds at 10am
• Runs with a dedicated free charge nurse
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive medications and sedation for intubated patients
• Care for post-AAA repair patients requiring extended flat positioning
• Uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00am-7:00pm
• Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• No call requirements

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
• No previous travel experience required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity cardiovascular ICU setting
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum 7 days RTO per contract, with blackout dates during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
• Holiday coverage required for major holidays occurring during the assignment, including Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who cancel or receive a facility DNR must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
