Job Title

Travel RN – CVICU | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights | Expected 36 hours/week | Projected Start: November 2, 2026

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct primary nursing care to cardiovascular ICU patients, including fresh post-cardiac surgery recovery
  • Maintain patient ratios of 1:1 for immediate post-surgical patients and 1:2 for POD 1–3 patients
  • Operate and monitor advanced hemodynamic support devices including balloon pump, Impella, and Hemosphere/Acumen monitoring systems
  • Document patient care accurately using the Meditech Expanse electronic documentation system
  • Fulfill scheduling requirements including 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks
  • Float to other units as needed, maintaining the same patient ratio as the assigned unit

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license valid in Virginia (or compact state eligibility)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with fresh cardiac surgery patients in a CVICU or similar setting
  • ACLS certification required
  • Proficiency with balloon pump and Impella devices
  • Experience with Hemosphere or Acumen hemodynamic monitoring systems

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Familiarity with Meditech Expanse documentation platform
  • Experience supporting a new or expanding cardiac surgery program
  • Strong critical care assessment and hemodynamic management skills
