Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a CVICU position requiring ICU experience and night shift availability with alternating weekends.

Details

  • 16-bed CVICU unit with RN-only staffing (no HUC or PCT support)
  • Patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1, occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity
  • Equipment used includes ventilators, telemetry, Baxter IV pumps, IABP, CRRT, Impella, and hypothermia therapy devices
  • Cerner documentation system used
  • Night shift schedule, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, 36 hours per week with alternating weekends
  • Travelers are required to float to all areas as needed
  • Procedures performed on the unit include cardioversion, central line insertion, EGD, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NC or compact)
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • Skills required include titration of vesicant medications, familiarity with pressors, sedation, and paralytics, vent and trach management, telemetry interpretation, and understanding of hemodynamics and PA catheter setup/interpretation
  • CCRN, IABP, Impella, and CRRT experience preferred but not required
  • US SSN and date of birth required for consideration (Canadian SSN not accepted)
  • One professional reference required

Additional Information

  • Provide direct bedside care for critically ill cardiovascular patients in a high-acuity ICU setting
  • Scrub colors must be all navy or navy and white; no pullovers, hoodies, or green scrubs unless soiled at work
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
  • No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
