Join a dedicated team as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) and Stepdown Unit (CSU) at a leading healthcare facility in Tuscaloosa, AL. This position requires a commitment to providing exceptional care to adult and geriatric patients recovering from cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and other surgical conditions. As an RN, you will play a vital role in ensuring a patient-centered approach, focusing on making each patient's experience pleasant and comfortable in a safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide critical care to patients in the CSICU, which is a 4-bed unit dedicated to postoperative recovery and complex invasive hemodynamic monitoring.
• Care for patients in the CSU, an 8-bed stepdown unit, focusing on recovery after cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery.
• Exhibit high levels of professional competency and collaborate with a cardiovascular educator to enhance patient care.
• Float to other units and hospitals as required.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Associate degree in nursing is required.
• 2 years of recent CVICU experience is required.

Certifications:

• AHA BLS and AHA NIH certifications are required.
• AHA PALS certification is preferred if working in a pediatric unit.

Licenses:

• Must hold a Registered Nurse license in the State of Alabama or a compact license (No Temp Licenses accepted).

This is a full-time contract position with guaranteed hours of 36 per week. You will be required to work every other weekend and holidays as needed. The facility utilizes Meditech for EMR, and the dress code consists of solid navy scrubs. Parking is available for staff.
