Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring CVICU or ICU experience and ACLS/BLS certification.

Details

• Cardiovascular ICU unit with 10 beds and 2:1 patient ratios
• Total Care Support staffing model with unit secretaries and techs available
• Uses Alaris IV pumps, GE bedside monitors, IABP, and Impella devices
• Charts using Meditech documentation system
• Cares for patients undergoing open heart procedures and ECMO cannulation
• Schedule of 3 shifts per week including 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Shift hours are 7am-7pm
• Floating required to Medical ICU and floor units as needed

Requirements

• Active KS or compact RN license required
• ACLS/BLS or ALS/BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent CVICU or ICU experience required
• Must have skills in telemetry, pressor and positive inotrope administration, pacemaker management, chest tube care, Cath/EP Lab recovery, and pericardial drain management
• Frequent site and vital sign assessment experience required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Perform frequent patient assessments and manage complex cardiovascular interventions and post-procedural recovery
• Charge nurse experience for night shift is a plus
• CVICU experience preferred in addition to general ICU background
• Unit recognized as a Unit of Distinction with high expectations for quality and patient experience scores
• Royal blue scrubs required as part of the dress code
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
