Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a 10-bed cardiovascular intensive care unit serving an adult to geriatric population
  • Manage and monitor patients with LVADs, intra-aortic balloon pumps, Swan catheters, temporary pacemakers, arterial lines, femoral and venous sheaths, TR bands, and patients on CRRT
  • Titrate cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, and sedation for intubated patients
  • Care for post-procedural patients including those following AAA repairs, ensuring positional and monitoring protocols are followed
  • Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds with the intensivist and care team
  • Maintain effective communication with physicians and the broader care team using SBAR methodology

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN licensure in Georgia or a Compact state required at time of submission
  • Minimum of 2 years of CVICU or cardiovascular critical care nursing experience
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Proficiency with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR communication framework
  • Ability to manage a 1:1–2 patient ratio in a high-acuity ICU setting

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience with CRRT management and hemodynamic monitoring devices
  • Familiarity with post-surgical cardiovascular patient care protocols
  • Experience floating within a facility across units within scope of practice
