Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position at a high-acuity critical care unit in Nashville, TN, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and active TN or compact RN license.

Details

15-bed Critical Care Unit specializing in cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgery patients
Patient population includes cardiac surgery/transplant, myocardial infarction, CHF, cardiogenic shock, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias, post-cardiopulmonary arrest, and post-ventricular assist device (VAD) placement
Patients served range from adolescent through late adult (ages 14 and up)
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2
Direct care team consists of RNs and Patient Care Techs
Night shift: 18:45–07:15
13-week contract

Requirements

Active TN or compact RN license required
Minimum 2 years of critical care or CVICU nursing experience required
Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Successful completion of a proctored cardiac rhythm test required
Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a valid US home address
Valid driver's license required
Two professional references required
Full DOB and full SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

Unit cares for some of the most critically ill cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgery patients in the region, including open heart surgery recovery and ECMO patients
Experience with high-acuity, fast-paced critical care environments is essential for success in this role
NIHSS certification: Group A renewed yearly, Groups B–F renewed every 2 years
