Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVICU position on night shift, requiring a NC or compact RN license and 1.5+ years of CVICU experience.

Details

• >work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of a 355-bed Level 3 trauma hospital
• 8-bed unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Patient ratios of 2:1 with occasional 1:1
• Common diagnoses/treatments include CABG, TAVR, STEMI, and Carotids
• Uses Impella, IABP, and CRRT equipment
• Charts in Cerner EHR
• Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend required, or as needed to meet facility demands
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required per scheduled rotation

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; CCRN preferred
• Minimum 1.5 years of nursing experience required
• Minimum 1 year of CVICU experience required (after orientation)
• Associate Degree in Nursing required
• Strong critical thinking skills required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to adult and geriatric CVICU patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures
• Facility is part of a Duke Lifepoint hospital system offering specialized centers including Brain, Cancer, Heart, and Lung Centers
• Scrubs of any professional color are acceptable
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any Lifepoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time while on assignment
• Must be available to start orientation on one of the facility's designated 2026 start dates
