Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring a SC or compact RN license and prior travel experience.

Details

  • Work in the Cardiovascular ICU setting
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Weekend shifts required
  • Required to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
  • Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

  • Active SC or compact RN license required, no pending licenses accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required; TNCC preferred
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Skills needed include IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, blood product administration, and ventilator management
  • Experience with cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, and continuous IV sedation titration required
  • Experience with post cardiac surgery care, IABP, Impella, and sheath removal required
  • Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and IV insulin protocols required
  • Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias and ABGs required
  • 2 supervisory references required
  • Copy of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide direct bedside care to critically ill cardiovascular patients
  • Maintain minimal RTO requests, especially avoiding time off during the first two weeks or full calendar weeks off during the assignment
  • Any RTO must be approved and documented prior to assignment start
  • Expect to work some holidays during the assignment
  • Former staff must have been separated from permanent employment for at least 5 years to be eligible as a traveler
  • Locals accepted at the local rate
  • Local candidates accepted within a 50 mile radius
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply despite the travel experience preference
