What You’ll Do
- Perform a wide range of CT exams including stroke protocols, CTAs, perfusions, and general imaging
- Provide imaging for ED, inpatient, and outpatient populations
- Safely administer contrast and perform IV starts as needed
- Work independently while maintaining high-quality imaging standards
- Collaborate with radiology staff and physicians to support accurate diagnoses
Patient Population & Case Mix
- Primarily adult patients with occasional pediatric cases (rare infants)
- Common exams include stroke workups, brain CTAs, CT perfusions, PE studies, and abdomen/spine imaging
- Average of ~20 scans per shift per technologist
Department Details
- 2 CT scanners (shared control room setup)
- Day shift supported by 2 CT Techs; reduced staffing in evenings
- Strong ancillary support including imaging assistants, radiology nurse (day shift), and house supervisor support after hours
- No first-time travelers (unless 10+ years of CT experience)
Technology & Equipment
- Scanners: Canon / Toshiba (highly preferred experience)
- EMR: Epic
- PACS: McKesson
- Medication System: Pyxis
Must-Have Credentials
- ARRT (CT) certification
- Active Wisconsin state license
- BLS (AHA or ARC)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care CT experience
Preferred Experience
- Canon or Toshiba scanner experience
- CT perfusion, IV starts, and biopsy/special procedure exposure
- Experience in stroke-focused imaging environments
