Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- ARRT(R) registration required
- ARRT(CT) required
- BLS required — may obtain within 90 days of hire/transfer
- 2 years of CT Technologist experience preferred
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must pass background check and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening
Main CT Responsibilities
- Perform CT scans using CT scanners and power injectors
- Position patients correctly and follow radiation-safety procedures
- Follow department protocols and radiologist instructions
- Assist with routine and interventional CT procedures
- Evaluate images for technical quality and properly label/organize them
- Administer/order oral contrast
- Perform IV placement and safely administer IV contrast
- Troubleshoot CT equipment and contact service engineers when needed
- Maintain accurate patient records in the EHR
- Follow ALARA radiation-safety standards
Additional Imaging Skills
The technologist should be able to assist with:
- X-ray
- Fluoroscopy
- C-arm
- OR imaging
Preferred cross-training:
Other Duties
- Assist other imaging modalities as needed
- Take call, overtime, or holiday shifts
- Help train/cross-train imaging staff
- Maintain supplies and inventory
- Assist with clerical duties, phones, or patient transportation when required
- Work independently with minimal supervision
Technology Experience
Preferred:
- PACS
- RIS/HIS
- Electronic medical records
Candidate Must-Haves
